NOTES: Being a fan of the TV show Survivor one day my warped sense of humor came to the fore asking... Ever wondered what would happen if the cast of Dragonball Z got to go on the show Survivor? Well wonder no more. I couldn't rest until this idea was down on paper. Originally it was posted on the "Madman Board" which is part of the DBZ website in Australia and I had the members of the board vote off a character each week so it was a case of not knowing from one week to the next who was going to stay and who was going to leave. Spanning ten weeks in total I had a great time writing this fic and while some characters may appear slightly OOC that is my fault but I don't think it affects the story in any form. Please enjoy the fic and e mail me to let me know what you think......

SURVIVOR DRAGONBALL Z STYLE

Chapter 3

 

King Kai; "Right lets tally the votes then.

He brings back the barrel & reached in. Everyone looks up expectantly. Yamcha is looking a bit nervous, Vegeta has his arms folded and a smirk on his face.

King Kai; "Krillin"

Krillin looks surprised.

King Kai; "Chi Chi"

Chi Chi's mouth drops open.

King Kai; "Krillin"

Krillin; (hangs his head & looks at the ground) "Oh man"

King Kai; "Tien'

Tien looks up

King Kai; "Bulma"

Bulma falls off her chair.

King Kai; "Tien"

Tien looks uncomfortable.

King Kai; "Yamcha"

Yamcha: (mutters) "Here we go again."

King Kai: "Bulma"

Vegeta is starting to look agitated at the thought of Bulma leaving.

King Kai; "We have 2 votes Tien, 2 votes Krillin, 2 votes Bulma, 1 vote Chi Chi & 1 vote Yamcha. I have 2 votes remaining in the barrel."

He reaches in & removes the next vote.

King Kai; "Bulma"

Yamcha is looking stunned & Vegeta is about to burst a blood vessel.

King Kai; 'Last vote.... Tien"

Tien looks really uncomfortable, Tien is smiling.

King Kai; "We have a tie between Tien & Bulma. I have the deciding vote but before I cast it do either of you have anything to say?"

Bulma; (shaking her head) "How could you guys? After everything I have done for you! How could you??"

She buries her face in Vegetas chest.

King Kai; "Tien?"

Tien; (looking really really uncomfortable) "Errr.... nothing to say."

King Kai; "You sure."

Tien; (swallows hard) "No nothing."

King Kai; "Okay. Well in that case I will cast my vote. Seeing as you haven't been completely honest with me or your fellow survivors I have no choice but to vote you off Tien."

Tien cast his eyes to the ground still looking very nervous. The rest of the group are silent looking from one to the other. Eventually Yamcha breaks the silence.

Yamcha; "What do you mean King Kai that Tien hasn't been honest with us all?"

King Kai: "That's up to Tien to tell you."

Goku; "I suppose he's been dipping into the food supplies behind our backs."

Vegeta: "That's the sort of thing I would expect from you Kakarot."

Goku: (sends energy ball at Vegeta) "Think what you want."

Vegeta; (deflects energy ball) "Don't worry I will."

Piccolo; "What ever it is I'm sure Tien must have a good reason."

Gohan; 'So come on Tien, spill the beans"

Trunks; "Yeah, What's been happening?"

Tien; (gets up) "Hey just leave me alone guys."

He walks over to King Kai with his torch. As King Kai goes to put it out Tien gives a sigh, turns around & opens his Knapsack.

Tien; "Look I'm really sorry all of you but I have been keeping something from you. I just couldn't help it.... The nights were so lonely.... We haven't been apart before..... I couldn't do that to him...."

Tien trailed off looking really sad.

Vegeta: "all right already! Enough with the sob story! Just get to the blasted point!!"

Tien; "It's probably best if you see for yourselves."

Tien opened the knapsack wide and out came.......

All; "CHIATZOU!!!"

Chi Chi & Bulma gasped, Yamchas mouth dropped, Piccolo's antennae stood bolt upright, Cell caught Krillin as he fainted, Gohan & Trunks looked at each other stunned and Goku & Vegeta cracked up laughing.

Tien; "I don't see what the problem is."

Goku; You, ha ha, don't see, hehehe, what the, hehehe, problem is? hahaha...."

Tien; "No its not like that."

Vegeta; "Oh yea? Wink, wink, nudge, nudge, say no more."

Tien; "No it isn't, really. Chiatzou hasn't been away from me before."

Gohan; "Hey Trunks, What's he going on about?"

Trunks; "Never mind. I'll explain later."

Cell; (puts his hand across his forehead.) "And to think I have your cells in me, Oh yuk, yuk."

Chi Chi to Bulma : "I had no idea. He seemed so.....so...

Bulma; "Normal?"

Chi Chi; "Yes normal"

Piccolo; (shuddered) "To each his own I suppose"

Yamcha: "You got that right!"

King Kai: "That's enough all of you. Tien the tribe has spoken."

King Kai extinguishes Tiens torch. Tien hangs his head and with Chiatzou floating beside him turns to leave.

Tien; "good bye all, It really isn't what you think."

Vegeta; "Yea, yea, Pull the other one its got bells on it."

Tien & Chiatzou left.

King Kai; "Okay you lot back to camp. You will be contacted again in a couple of days. Good night."

All; "Good night"

They wander back through the vegetation to their cave...

Gohan; (whispers to Trunks) "Just what did all that mean Trunks?"

Trunks; "Well... I think it means that Tien kinda likes Chiatzou more than say ...umm... Well you figure it out."

Gohan; (looking even more confused) "Ohh Kay"

 

NEXT MORNING

 

Goku is stirring the fire around with a stick & sending little fireballs from his finger into it.

Vegeta; "How pathetic"

Goku; "Shove off Vegeta"

Vegeta; "Touchy, Touchy. Just cause I'm a better driver than you."

Goku; "Yea well I'll give you a re match any time."

Vegeta; "You just name the time & place loser."

Goku sends bigger fireballs into the fire. Yamcha comes out of the cave.

Yamcha; "Where is everyone?"

Goku; "They have all gone swimming"

Yamcha; "So why the long face Goku?"

Vegeta; "Chi Chi has put us all on rations as there's not a lot of rice left."

Goku; "It's not fair, I'm hungry. You would thing there would be more now that 2 have left.

Vegeta; "Well Trunks & I are going hunting later & hope to track down that beast."

Yamcha; "I hope so. I'm getting a bit sick of rice."

Vegeta; "Who said you were going to get any?"

Yamcha grunted & gave Vegeta a sour look.

Yamcha; "I'm going for a walk"

LATER.....

Vegeta & Trunks are getting ready to go hunting, Bulma & Chi Chi are gathering up their washing, The rest of the group are sitting around the fire making small talk.

Vegeta; "see you all later"

Piccolo; "Yea, see you"

Trunks; "We'll be back soon"

Gohan; "Good luck"

Bulma; :Bring us home something different to eat"

Vegeta; "Tonight we will eat like kings."

Yamcha; "Promises promises"

Vegeta raises his hand & aims for Yamcha.

Vegeta; "Just stay away from my woman or your next meal will be the least of your worries"

Bulma; "Just Chill Vegeta!"

Vegeta scowled and looked at Trunks.

Vegeta; "Come on lets go"

They blast off. The girls head for the stream.

Chi Chi; "We're going to do some washing, I suggest that the rest of you do some as well"

Bulma; "Yes Piccolo you could do with a change of outfit"

Piccolo: "Hey leave me alone"

Yamcha: "She's got a point you know. You have been wearing the same clothes for the last few days."

Piccolo; "I suppose your right'

Cell; " At least I don't have that problem"

Camera goes to Vegeta& Trunks who are tracking through the scrub.

Vegeta; "It looks like its lair is up there amongst those rocks."

Trunks: "It's probably got a cave or something"

Vegeta; "Just get your sword ready"

Trunks: "Why don't we just blast it?"

Vegeta; "Get real. Think about it. If we blast it then it will be cremated and no ones going to want to eat a crispy critter now are they!"

Trunks: (giggling) "Goku would"

Vegeta: "Yeah well some people have no taste. Now shush we're getting closer"

Camera goes back to the stream. Chi Chi & Bulma are washing clothes. Piccolo has changed and hung his cape etc. out to dry. A steady line of wet clothes was appearing in the trees on the bank.

Chi Chi; "I think these guys can do their own washing in future. I cant get these stains out of Gohans pants."

Bulma: " I know what you mean, Trying to remove marks from Vegetas spandex is really hard."

The girls see Yamcha strolling towards them. Chi Chi cocks an eyebrow.

Chi Chi; "I wonder what he wants?"

Bulma: 'Three guesses"

Yamcha: "Hi girls"

Bulma; "What do you want Yamcha?"

Yamcha: "Nothing, I just thought I'd see if you needed a hand."

Chi Chi: "Thanks but we're fine"

Bulma; "You had better get out of here, if Vegeta finds out you will be history."

Yamcha: "Im not scared of Vegeta"

Bulma: "You should be"

Camera goes back to Vegeta & Trunks who are at the animals lair and are waiting for it to return.

Vegeta: " Blast all this waiting, I wish this animal would hurry up."

Trunks: "Patience is a virtue"

Vegeta: "I don't give a damn about patience, I just want to hurry up & get this animal, I'm hungry."

Trunks; "Yeah well it will be here soon enough"

Camera goes back to camp, The girls have returned from the washing & the guys are playing cards.

Krillin; " I hope Vegeta manages to catch something for dinner"

Goku: "Me to. I'm starving"

Gohan: "Your always hungry dad"

Goku: "You cant talk"

Camera goes back to the hunt.

Trunks: "Something's coming>"

Vegeta: "Shh I hear it"

A rustling noise is approaching, Trunks grasps his sword ready. The bushes part & an odd looking creature walks past. Vegeta stares at it. It had the head & body of a dog, wings & tail of a dragon and spines running the length of its back.

Trunks; (whispers) "What is it?"

Vegeta; "Its a Dragonog"

Trunks: "A what?"

Vegeta: "A Dragonog. They are supposed to be good eating."

Trunks: "So how do we catch it?"

Vegeta: "We have to take it by surprise, but watch out as it can shoot fireballs from its mouth."

Trunks: "Oh kay"

Vegeta& Trunks stalk the unsuspecting animal. All is going well until Trunks steps on a twig. The Dragonog raised its head, sniffed the air & with a roar took off through the scrub.

Vegeta: "you Idiot!! Why did you have to go & do that for?

Trunks: "Sorry it was an accident"

Vegeta: "Well don't just stand there we have to catch it."

Trunks & Vegeta give chase. Meanwhile.....

Goku & Gohan are breaking up more fire wood, Chi Chi is reading a book, Piccolo & Cell are playing snap, Bulma has gone for a walk & Krillin & Yamcha are chatting.

Yamcha: "Do you think Bulma still likes me?"

Krillin: "Bulma has eyes only for Vegeta"

Yamcha: "You reckon?"

Krillin: "Look don't go messing with Vegeta, He's bad enough when he's in a good mood."

Yamcha: "I cant help it"

Krillin: "Your going to have to watch out or end up toast"

Piccolo; "SNAP!"

Cell; "You cheated!"

Piccolo: "No I didn't"

Cell: "Yes you did. You looked before turning over the card."

Piccolo: "I did not!"

Krillin: "All right you 2 do you have to fight as well?"

Piccolo & Cell both turn and look menacingly at Krillin

Krillin: "Fine. Err.... just forget I said anything guys, carry on..."

Back in the scrub......

Vegeta& Trunks are in hot pursuit of the Dragonog.

Vegeta: "Come here you rotten animal"

Vegeta tripped over a tree root and as he fell an energy beam shot out from his palm catching the Dragonog in the leg.

Vegeta: "Oh shit"

He ducked as the Dragonog gave a roar of pain & rage and fired several fire balls at him.

Trunks: "You okay?"

Vegeta: "Of course I am. Why wouldn't I be?"

Trunks: "We nearly had him then"

Vegeta: "All right already, Lets get after him again."

Once more the chase continued. Finally they managed to corner the beast.

Vegeta: "Now we have you.'

Trunks: "Be careful, he looks pretty mean"

Vegeta: "Shut up & pass me your sword"

Trunks: "Okay but I hope you know what your doing"

Vegeta: "Of course I do"

Vegeta slowly approached the animal, it kept looking from Trunks to Vegeta& back again.

Vegeta: "Now be a good little animal & stay still while I finish you off. It wont take long & it wont hurt........

much.......

Vegeta lunged at the animal swinging the sword. The Dragonog took a step back and shot a fire ball at Vegeta Vegeta tried to dodge but wasn't used to having the sword in his hand. The blast caught him on the fingers and the sword flew out of his hands.

Vegeta: "Ouch..ouch... that smarts.....ohh pain...pain..."

Trunks hiding a smile caught the sword.

Trunks: "Let me handle this"

Trunks edged closer to the animal, suddenly he screamed and powered up to SSJ. The Dragonogs eyes opened wide with surprise, caught off guard Trunks wielded the sword.

Flash...Flash...Flash...

The Dragonog stood there.

Vegeta: "Oh wow you missed."

Trunks: "Did I?"

The Dragonogs head left its body.....

EVENING....

Goku: "That was great. I haven't had such a good meal in ages."

Gohan: "Me neither"

Krillin: "Yeah not bad Trunks "

Goku: "What happened to your hand Vegeta?"

Vegeta: "Mind your own business Kakarot"

Trunks: "Lets just say that someone got their fingers burnt.

Yamcha: (smiling) "really?"

Vegeta: (scowling) I can see someone who will get more than their fingers burnt."

Piccolo: "Ok time out"

Cell: "Don't you people ever give up?"

Goku: "Give up?... No way"

Krillin: (rolls his eyes) Here we go again"

Yamcha; "Well I'm off to bed. (whispers) Coming Bulma?"

Vegeta: (Points his finger and sends the blast past Yamchas ear) The next one wont miss"

Trunks: "Im off, night"

Yamcha, Trunks, Goku, Chi Chi, Bulma, Vegeta& Gohan all head into the cave for bed.

Krillin: "I suppose I'll go too"

Cell: "I'm sleeping out here"

Piccolo: "Me too, I cant stand Gokus snoring anymore"

NEXT DAY

Cell: "Breakfasts ready"

Goku: "Hey this isn't bad"

Trunks: "Yea, not bad at all"

Chi Chi: "We should swap recipe's sometime"

Cell: (blushing) Glad you like it"

Goku: "got any more?"

Cell: "there's only Krillins & Yamchas left"

Goku: "I'm sure they wont mind"

Krillin: "Mind what?"

Goku: "Oh nuthin"

Krillin: "Oh great brekky"

After the dishes had been washed Bulma & Chi Chi went to check the mail.

Bulma: "we have mail"

They all gather around, Bulma opens the mail.

Bulma: "Challenge no 3. Boy cant they come up with something more original, I mean challenge no 3 . why...

Vegeta: (exasperated)"Get on with it woman!"

Bulma: "Okay...okay already.

To get your mind & body to relax
is just the beginning of this task
Patience is a virtue you will need
if at this challenge you wish to succeed.

Yamcha: "Well that's you out of it Vegeta>"

Vegeta: (scowling)"Don't bet on it"

Trunks: " Oh I don't know"

Vegeta: (Folds his arms) What would you lot know.'

That afternoon the gang arrive at the stream where King Kai is waiting.

King Kai: "Hello all and welcome to challenge no 3.'

He waves his hand towards the water.

King Kai: "As you can see there are several poles out there. Today we will test your patience & self control. You each get a pole to sit or stand on, the last one out there gets immunity."

Yamcha: "Patience? Self control? Vegeta you had better quit now while your ahead."

Vegeta: "Watch it"

King Kai: No stirring the opposition. Now take your poles.'

After an hour all are still on their respective poles.

Goku: "My bums gone numb. Hey Gohan, how you doing?"

Gohan: "So far so good"

Goku: "What about you Piccolo?"

Piccolo: "Hummmm....Hummmmm..."

Cell: "Cant you see he's meditating?"

Goku: "Sorry"

Another hour passes.

King Kai: "Your all doing really well. If any of you are interested I have a table over here that has some cheese, biccis, fresh fruit and other goodies on it plus some orange juice"

SPLASH!!!

Goku has left his pole.

Goku: "Food, food. Sorry guys but wow this is too good to resist."

Goku swims to the shore and starts to eat.

Vegeta: (smacks the front of his head) I Might have known"

SPLASH...SPLASH...

Vegeta: "hey you 2"

Gohan: "You don't think I'm going to stay out here while my dad eats all the food do you?"

Trunks: "Sorry dad"

Another hour passes

King Kai: "There's some lovely spare ribs with BBQ sauce here if anyone's interested."

Vegeta: (sighs) Splash! "Okay you got me"

2 hours later...

King Kai: "and some choccy bars"

Splash splash Chi Chi & Bulma join the crowd on the shore.

Another hour passes.

King Kai: "Cheeseburger anyone?"

Krillin: "Oh man, no fair, you sure know how to get a guy."

Another hour....

King Kai: "Pizza?"

Yamcha joins the shore party, now only Cell & Piccolo remain.

Another 2 hours pass

Goku: "You may as well give it up Cell, there's no way you will beat Piccolo."

Cell: "Why not?"

Goku: "Piccolo doesn't eat & meditates 99% of the time."

Cell: "Damn!"

Cell left his post & joined the others. Piccolo remains on his pole.

Vegeta: "Hey Namek! You can stop now, You won"

Yamcha: "Come in no 2, your time is up"

Piccolo: (opens eyes) " I heard you there's no need to shout"

King Kai: "You have immunity Piccolo. Now back to camp & I'll see you at tonight's tribal council.

That evening a line of torches are bobbing & weaving their way through the undergrowth to the hot spot on the planet. King Kai, framed by the flames is waiting for them.

King Kai: "Here we are again. Before we vote lets see what we have learnt these last couple of days. Chi Chi, what have you learnt?"

Chi Chi: "That Cell has some really great recipe's"

King Kai: "This is starting to get to me. Krillin?

Krillin: " To quit challenges before Goku so that you get something to eat."

King Kai: (sigh)"Trunks?"

Trunks: "Never give my dad a loaded weapon."

King Kai: (shakes his head) " They don't pay me enough for this. All right, lets get the ball rolling. You all know what to do by now so off you go & do it. Piccolo has immunity so he cant be voted off. Vote now....

Chapter 4
