The Blood saga

Episode 3 - These aren’t out Dragonball’s! Horror emerges from the shadows!

Zarak stood I the center of the room, waiting for Ojouhsib to attack. Ojouhsib threw the ball of energy at him, he caught it, batting it back to her as if it was nothing. A chi shield enveloped her as the ball was destroyed. Zarak flew towards her, his fist connecting with her stomach. She stepped back gasping for air, as his foot connected with the side of her face. She lay on the ground, half-unconscious, bleeding from he mouth.
“I thought I was valuable to you…”
“You thought wrong. I don’t need someone who’s conspiring against me. Now leave. I don’t want to see you again until we begin the search.” Ojouhsib forced herself up, clutching her ribs, she turned away unable to face her master and left.
Pan sat alone in her classroom away from everyone else, watching the clock. The time was passing slowly. She couldn’t wait to leave, she had so much to talk to her grandfather about, and she had to show him how much she had improved. She couldn’t wait. It wouldn’t be much longer though. The day was almost already over.
“Son Pan! Can you tell me the name of the warrior whom saved the earth twenty-five years ago?”
Caught off by guard by this question Pan fumbled around for the answer. “Oh god, I can’t believe you people are still asking this question… It was Mr. Satan. My grandfather. Happy?” Some students in the class giggled at Pan’s smart arsed answer.
“Can you tell me, Pan, why you thought it was necessary to ask if I was happy?”
Pan sighed, “because you seem to be obsessed with making my life a misery. You seem to ask me everything, no matter how easy, stupid or irrelevant. Why?” More people in the class began to laugh. Pan was now standing staring directly at the teacher. “What’s more is, that you are all so pathetic you just believe everything you’re told…”
The teacher was becoming frustrated with Pan’s inability to cooperate. “What do you mean by ‘pathetic’ Pan? Why are you being so difficult? If you don’t calm down you will have to leave.”
Pan shrugged. “So. I don’t care, send me out… but before I go I should tell you Mr. Satan didn’t defeat Cell. My father, Son Gohan, did.” More people began to laugh at Pan. “Shut up! You can’t laugh at me for the truth, you idiots! I can kill all of you right now without breaking a sweat! I have better things to do than listen to all of you or stay here!” Pan walked over to the door, one boy attempted to trip her. She turned around, thrusting her fist into his right cheek, sending him off his chair, then returned to walking to the door.
“Son Pan, if you walk out that door you will be suspended until further notice.”
“I’ve got to tell you something, I. Don’t. Care.” Pan walked out the door, leaving the whole class in shock. Just as she left the classroom, though, she began to have second thoughts about her decision. Am I really doing the right thing? Should I go back? Mum and dad will probably kill me for this… but I have to see grandpa… But looks like I’ll never be back here again. Suspended until further notice is just a nice way of ‘you’re expelled.’ Shortly after she exited the school Pan stopped and flew towards the Son residence.
Five of the Z-soldiers stood on Kami’s tower. They had managed to gather 5 of the Dragonball’s. Vegita, Kuririn, Tenshinhan, Goten and Trunks stood on the tower waiting for Uubu and Yamucha to return.
“So are you sure this is what they want?” Goten asked.
“Of course. That’s the only reason people seem to come to Earth…” Vegita said. Kuririn was about to say something, but was cut off by the arrival of Uubu and Yamucha.
“Sorry we’re late. We had to wrestle one Dragonball from a tribe of, things, with rituals that seemed to weaken us. The other Dragonball was 1500m underwater.” Yamucha explained their lateness.
“I can forgive Uubu, Yamucha, but I cannot forgive you for being late. You have done this sort of thing many times before. You should know when to be prepared.” Vegita stated while gathering all seven Dragonball’s into a pile.
Yamucha still wasn’t convinced about the current plan. “Why do you want to keep them all? Won’t that attract their attention? I mean, why don’t we just call up Shenlong and wish for something’s three times?”
“Yamucha, we aren’t doing that because it would result in them sticking around for another year. We don’t want that to happen… And plus we’ll be having each Dragonball guarded by a different person.” Yamucha nodded, showing that he realized this was probably the best thing to do. All seven of the Z-soldiers grabbed a Dragonball and prepared to guard it.
Outside the Son residence, all was quiet. A few birds chirped, and some animals playfully scurried about while Chi-Chi looked out the window, while talking to Gokou. All was about to change as the young Pan came flying down the path, stopping at the doorway. She took a deep breath, sighed and began to knock on the door. She was smiling when the door opened, but it quickly changed to a look of shock and fear.
“Mum!” Pan screamed in surprise.
“Pan!” Videl screamed just as surprised. Pan was forcing a laugh, but Videl seemed to have jus frozen. She wasn’t moving at all. Slowly she began to regain her composure. “Why are you here now? Did you only have a half day at school?”
“Kind of… some thing happened, I yelled, my teacher yelled, I left the classroom, and got… suspended until further notice!” Pan continued to smile when she finished the basic run down.
“I’m sorry, suspended until further notice? Maybe you should come into the lounge, and tell your grandma that. Okay?” Pan knew where this was going. She was going to be punished, and probably have to apologize to the school… not exactly her idea of victory.
“Pan. What are you doing home from school so early?” Chi-Chi asked, a smile growing on her face. Seeing how happy she was Pan was apprehensive about telling her, but a poke in the back from Videl changed her mind.
“I… got… suspended… until… further… notice…” The more Pan talked the quieter she got. Everyone, even Gokou, was staring at Pan. Chi-Chi had completely frozen. Five minutes passed before anyone did anything, but for Pan it was the longest five minutes she had ever encountered. To her it felt like three hours. After the five minutes Chi-Chi blinked a few times, she began breathing heavily, sweat dripped down her forehead. Gokou and Gohan knew what was coming, Videl could guess what was. Was going to happen. Videl used the bukujutsu technique as well as she could to get close enough to Gokou and Gohan to hide behind them.
“YOU WHAT!?” Chi-Chi screamed as loud as she could. The walls seemed to move, so did the roof. Pan thought the windows would break. Although she saw a lighter side to the situation. My grandpa, the strongest man in the universe, probably, and he’s scared of my grandma, a woman who I could beat without breaking into a sweat. Pan struggled not to laugh, but as if Gokou had read her mind he signaled for her not to laugh, not to do anything except listen to Chi-Chi.
“Hey, Chi-Chi? Gohan, Videl and me, we’re gonna go now. We have to help the others guard the Dragonball’s. Okay?” Chi-Chi’s eyes burned intensely.
“NO! You will not go! This is the sort of thing that ruined Pan’s chances at a life other than fighting! I may have supported Goten with fighting! But I’m not going to let my only granddaughter waste her life fighting!”
“Please Chi-Chi! Calm down, it was a one off thing. It will never happen again. Look at Gohan and Goten they both turned out fine and they spent most of their time fighting. It’ll help her!” Gokou smiled desperately trying to get her to calm down.
Chi-Chi couldn’t argue. Both of her son’s, and her husband, had spent most of their lives fighting, and apart from the constant leaving for training, and death, life had been fine. “Fine, Gokou, she can go with you. But if this ever happens again, she will never fight again.”
Videl was shocked by what Chi-Chi was saying. This is my daughter! Not yours, how can you say what she does? Videl bit her tongue, in attempt to return the sanity to the household.
Another knock at the door interrupted them all. “Chi-Chi! I’m back!”
“At least someone will support my views… but I promised not to get hung up… just don’t let her die.” Chi-Chi smiled. She walked over to Gohan and hugged him. “Look after your daughter. I don’t you coming back here until what ever it is you’re after is dead. Because I don’t want anymore problems at school!” She looked at Pan. “Understand?”
“Yeah…” Chi-Chi continued to smile. Gokou put his hand on Pan’s shoulder. Gohan and Videl walked over to them both.
“See ya Chi-Chi! We’re gonna be back soon!” Gokou performed the Shunkan Idou, and the four were gone. Gyuu Myauo walked through the door hoping to see everyone, but was surprised when they had gone.
“Chi-Chi, where’s everyone? What’re they doin’?”
“Nothing, dad, just fighting for a better life… Oh dad, Buruma, Bra and Marron will be arriving soon.”
It was now getting dark; the skyline had become a pinkish orange because of the sunset. It had been two hours since Gokou told everyone to go too different parts of the Earth to protect the Dragonball’s. Some Z-soldiers had gone alone others had paired up. Either way they seemed to be incompetent hands. Trunks was setting up camp in a small cave, hoping to get some food cooked before it was pitch black. While he set up camp he remembered what Gokou had told everyone to do if Zarak’s men got the Dragonball.
“Hiya! I’m back! So did we get all seven?” Gokou asked.
“Yeah, we did Son Gokou.” Tenshinhan said.
“Kakarotto, what do we do now?” Vegita asked avoiding looking at Gokou.
Gokou looked around seeing everyone had arrived. Goten, Trunks, Vegita, Tenshinhan, Kuririn, Gohan, Videl, Pan, Uubu, Yamucha and Juuhachigou were all standing around the seven Dragonball’s. Even Mr. Buu had joined them after being persuaded by Gokou! Dende and Mr. Popo were standing around the outside of the group. Seven of the Z-soldiers picked a Dragonball up.
“All right, so do we just take a Dragonball and leave?” Kuririn asked fondling his Dragonball.
“Yeah! Pretty much! If you want you can go alone, but we don’t want more than one Dragonball in the same place.”
Vegita wanted to work alone, but Goten was holding a Dragonball and he needed one. “Well, let’s go… now…” Goten was surprised by this, but was ready to follow.
“Oh, yeah… if they get the Dragonball, destroy everything. Them, it and you. It might sound strange, but we have to do it. Remember what Vegita did against Mr. Buu? Think of that if they get a Dragonball… Well. I guess we’ll be seeing each other soon!” Each of the Z-soldiers left for their own areas, for the battle hadn’t even begun.
“So what now? Here I am guarding this Dragonball and nothing will probably happen anyway.” Trunks’ attention immediately turned to the bushes when he heard a branch snap. “Come out! Now!”
Azaelya stepped out from the bushes, brushing herself off. “Well, you found me. I don’t suppose you want to hand over the Dragonball?”
“Don’t bet on it…”
She sighed. “Do we really have to fight?”
“I guess,” Trunks threw the Dragonball into the cave. “Well, shall we begin?” She shrugged. Immediately the fight began. Fists and legs were flying everywhere. Most of the punches, kicks, elbows and knees were blocked by each other. The first on to connect was Trunks’ fist. His fist flew into her abdomen, she was surprised, but her leg made contact with his neck, sending his body spinning. Her elbow was about to come down into his back, but a flip kick to the chin caught her off guard. Flipping over in mid-air Azaelya performed Orochi Nagi. The flames spewed from her hands. Trunks was caught off guard, but was able to avoid most of the blast. His right leg was severely burnt though. He gritted his teeth but continued to fight. Flying directly towards Trunks’ head, her knee made a huge impact with his face, breaking his nose. I don’t want to hurt you! Please don’t make me…
“I thought you’d be stronger, don’t worry, I’ll let you get your breath back.” This was all Trunks needed. In an instant he had powered up to Super Saiya-jin. He began top moves his hands in a similar motion at a high speed. What is he doing? I should get prepared to defend… Now that he’s Super Saiya-jin, I have to be ready for everything…
“Burning Attack!” The ball of chi energy flew towards her. A reflex took over in Azaelya’ s body, as she bought her hands up to cover her face. The chi ball hit her, but didn’t do much. “Lucky you!” Trunks taunted. His gloating didn’t last long, though, as she zanzokened right in front of his face and blasted him with a huge ball of chi.
“Sorry, Trunks… but you had it coming…” When the smoke had cleared Trunks was no where to be seen ion the air. Strange… I can’t-Heh… there he is… laying on the rocks… I guess that now I can have my prize. She began to fly towards the cave.
“No…” Trunks cried weakly struggling to get up. By the time he had gotten off the side of the mountain, she was standing in front of him with a Dragonball.
“Thanks Trunks… we’ll do this again sometime… Unless you can find something more interesting to do that still gives a workout…” She winked at him and flew off. That Dragonball… it was strange… even in the dark they should have a healthy orange glow… but this one it was-
“Trunks! Are you okay?” A figure asked flying towards Trunks’ body.
“What? Kuririn! Hey, why are you here?”
“Juuhachigou said she was fine… and I felt your chi level growing. Fast. So I thought I should see if you needed help… But they already got it didn’t they?”
“You know what, I wish they had have…” Kuririn didn’t know what he meant. “You see, they got a Dragonball, but it wasn’t ours… it had an evil chi and it was black…

Hiya! This is Gokou! After Trunks’ first encounter with Azaelya, where they actually fought, it would seem something more sinister is brewing than what we thought. But what is this black Dragonball Trunks was talking about? Does it exist? Or was it the nighttime sky playing tricks on him? Hopefully we’ll find out on the next Dragonball R: Raging body of fire! Vegita’s one guard now!!
