Episode 8 - Truth revealed! A dark cloud rains on all!

The Z-Senshi all arrived at Capsule Corp within minutes. Chi-Chi, Videl and Buruma all stood out the front with Gyuu Mauo, Kamesennin and Mr. Satan.

“We’ve got a visitor.” Buruma said winking at Vejita. “I think you’ll all be pleased to see who it is. I just-” Buruma was cut off as Chi-Chi slammed through her to check on Goten.

“Goten! Goten! Are you okay? Wake up! Just wake up!” She cried, checking his body for injuries of any kind. All she found was some bruises and cuts on his chest.

“Chi-Chi… calm down. He’s okay. He ain’t dead. We just need to put him down inside.”

Vejita threw Kibitoshin onto the ground. “Humph… He can stay there.”

Everyone walked inside, completely unprepared to see who was standing in the middle of the lounge room.

“Piccolo!” Gohan cried. His joy was stopped by the question, “weren’t you leaving?”

“Yes, I was Gohan. But I realized I couldn’t just leave. My place is with the Z-Senshi. And you all needed to know why I left.”

“Then tell us why. Right now.”
Piccolo shook his head but hesitated at first. “I can’t tell you right now…”

The door to the spare bedroom opened, and slowly a woman stepped out of it. She had some blood stained bandages wrapped around her waist and was wearing a pair of Buruma’s leather pants and Trunks’ black singlets. She was rubbing the sleep from her eyes, but it didn’t take her long to focus when she felt everyone’s chi.

Within an instant she was prepared to fire, as were all the Z-Senshi, except Piccolo who was caught in the middle. Mr. Satan walked in front of everyone and tried to calm them down.

“N-N-Now, n-now! W-we should all j-just stop this!” He pleaded, his fear of being killed showing. Chi-Chi continued to be shielded by Gyuu Mauo, and Videl, and Kamesennin took great delight in shielding Buruma. From behind her.

“Pervert!” One slap. “God damn pervert!” Two slaps. “Get away from my ass!” She threw him into the wall.

An uneasy laughter went through the room. “Alright, Azaelya is a guest here! Piccolo brought her here and saved her life! She’s staying with us and I don’t want to hear another word about it!” Buruma told everyone.

“Yes. Yes.” Everyone said in unison. Except Buu who then walked from the kitchen, a tub of ice cream in his hand.

“Mmmm… Good ice.” He droned as he stuffed the tub into his mouth. The tension lifted from the room, and Gokou put Goten into the second guestroom.

Mr. Satan, Chi-Chi and Videl began to talk to Pan about her school. Two days ago Pan was suspended until further notice, and now that Mr. Satan had been on the phone, that was up. She had been readmitted, and was to start again on Monday the next week.

Pan was barely able to feign her excitement. “Great. How fun. I have three days to train…”

Videl scratched the back of her head an laughed. “Not exactly… Chi-Chi kind of…” She trailed off.

“What did grandma do?” Pan was scared now. She knew how over the top Chi-Chi could get.

Chi-Chi smiled. “Well Pan, I didn’t want you to get behind so I got all the homework you would have been given since Tuesday and said you’d hand it all in on Monday. And to stop you from slacking off to fight… I signed you up for singing!” Pan’s face fell. “So get started!” Chi-Chi motioned at the books on the desk.

“Mum…”

Videl forced a smile. “Just make her happy, honey.” Pan rolled her eyes and got started.

Gokou and Vejita were discussing Zarak’s possible intentions for wanting the Dragonball’s. It wasn’t age, Azaelya said his race, Mandu-jin, would stay in their prime for around 135 Earth years. Their average life expectancy was 212. His strength was already abnormally strong for a race of scientists and technophiles, so it can’t have been or that and his father was still alive (all siblings of the race were killed. One child per family and mothers normally died during birth. If not they were killed due to mental scarring and trauma.) So it wasn’t to wish anyone back to life.

Every time Gokou brought up a weakness or investigating his past, Vejita immediately protested. And Buruma had said nothing about Vejita screaming Zarak’s name when he first felt his chi.

Gohan and Videl had retreated to the training room after Videl had pestered him about training her, so she could help him fight. Tenshinhan and Piccolo were meditating and Kuririn and Juuhachigou had gone to pick Bra and Marron up from in the city. Yamucha was training with Buu while Mr. Satan watched and Uubu was asking Pan various questions about the work she was doing. Chi-Chi, Buruma, Kamesennin, and Gyuu Mauo were playing poker. Trunks was looking in on Goten, and Azaelya was silently watching him from the end of the hall.

The front door slammed open and flew off its hinges. “Vejita! You have a lot to answer for with your lack of respect for Kaioshin’s!” Kibitoshin fumed. Dende and Popo walked in slowly afterwards.

“Hi.” Dende said casually.

“Gah! God!” Gohan cried.

“Until this battle is over, Kaiobito-sama has requested that I return to Nameck and take Popo with me. He’ll return to the battle to help you fight, and then he plans on-”

Kibitoshin cut Dende off. “That’s enough God. We’ll be leaving now.” He looked at Vejita.

“I hope you will gain some respect by the time I return.”

“Yeah right. I never had respect for you. Why would I regain it within half an hour?” Vejita queried. Kibitoshin narrowed his eyes and used Kai-Kai on he, Dende and Popo. They vanished. “It’s about time.” Buruma giggled.

Vejita looked at Gokou and nodded. Now was the time to ask Azaelya everything. Now was the time to get any information they could out of her. She would no doubt be killed by Zarak before he was gone, so they needed her while they could.

“Uubu! Come here.” Gokou called. All the Z-Senshi were in the room except for Pan and Uubu, who was now making his way to the lounge.

“Can I come grandpa?” Pan called.

Gokou was about to say yes but caught sight of Chi-Chi’s face. “No!”

“Humph… I bet grandma was glaring at him…” She mumbled to herself.

Gokou face turned serious. “You’re a guest here Azaelya. You owe us your life. We want to know everything about Zarak. And you including why you’re helping as.” He pointed to Piccolo, “and we want to know why he saved you before anything.”

Azaelya sat down on a chair and prepared to tell her story. “Well, to be honest, I’m not entirely sure why Piccolo saved me. But I’m grateful. He first made himself noticed by further tearing the skin on my left side. Then blasting Zarak’s ship with a Mankankasoppo. Then…

Ojuohsib picked herself up while Azaelya continued to roll around on the ground. Ojuohsib walked over to Azaelya; a twisted grin embedded on her face. She lifted her foot… And dropped it directly onto Azaelya’s wound. Twisting her foot around as she kept pressure on it.

“Arr~gh!” Azaelya screamed. She then began to vomit up some blood.

Azaelya instinctively threw her hand up and squeezed Ojuohsib’s wound. But that wasn’t it. She then used her Orochi Nagi attack on the wound. The flames from her hand instantly began to burn the flesh. It began to blister and smoke almost immediately. Her pupils dilated almost immediately. In a fit of rage she kicked Azaelya in the face three times. She touched the blistered skin, pain shooting through all the surrounding skin.

Azaelya forced herself up, and she found herself staring into the face of Piccolo.

“You’re… The one who has…” She didn’t finish her sentence. Piccolo had already turned away and focused on Ojuohsib.

Ojuohsib wasn’t even focused on the battle anymore. One hand was clutching her wound and the other held a com-link to her face.
Zarak’s voice raged through the com-link. "Ojuohsib you’re lucky as hell this ship is the same size as a small town! Because if any of my-”

Piccolo snatched the com-link out of her hand. “Playtime has ended.” He snarled.

Piccolo then slammed his fist into her midsection, and threw his palm into her face. As she flew along, he zanzokened to in front of her and let her fly into his elbow, knocking her unconscious. He turned to face Azaelya.

“Don’t kill me…” She pleaded. He threw a senzu bean to her.

“Eat it. Before you lapse into coma. If you do that, you’ll be of no use to me and I’ll let you die.” She quickly chewed and swallowed. He then zanzokened behind her and pushed the right point on her neck to knock her unconscious. He picked her up, and the two flew towards Capsule Corp…

“Impressive story.” Kuririn said.

Gohan emerged from the kitchen with a drink for Videl. “Is that how it happened Piccolo?”

“More or less. I do have these for Buruma. It’s I blew a hole threw the ship and took a while to step in.”

Buruma took the disks. “Thanks. I’ll get to work. Bra! Marron! Come on. You can give me a hand. Chi-Chi, would you mind doing some cooking?”

“No! It’ll take my mind off everything.”

“So do you want the rest of the story? My life?” She asked.

“Of course. Continue.” Gokou replied.

“I don’t remember anything before I was 17 though so-”

“Why not?” Pan cut in. “Were you an experiment? A slave?”

Chi-Chi walked out of the kitchen. “Pan, shouldn’t you be working?”

“I’ve done plenty of work… And I’ve got three days to do it!” She complained. She had done all of the maths and was finishing of her English. But she still had Science, Japanese and music to do.

“Come on Pan. Get back to work. I just want what’s best for you.”

“Do you? I mean, God! D you know what I want to do with my life? I want to fight… Or sing. I haven’t decided. But you keep working me like I’m going to be a scholar. I’m not.” Pan stated.

Chi-Chi replied, “Pan you can’t fight and do school. And at least those singing lessons will get you a foot in the door…”

Pan shrugged her shoulders. “I can fight and do school! I can fight, sing and do school! Dad did! Except for the singing… Unless he had some creepy after school life that no one knew about…”

Videl sighed. “I knew this would happen.” She whispered to Mr. Satan, “dad, could you please ring the school back. Tell them we have some family issues at the moment and Pan will not be able to return for at least another week.”

“But, honey, after all the trouble I went to… Besides I don’t want Pan to fight. She should just do what she wants. As long as it isn’t fighting.”

“Sorry dad, just do it please.” He gave in and went to the phone.

“You’ve always been like this Grandma! You’ve never let me do anything myself! You always try to rule my life! I don’t want you to!”

This hurt chi-Chi. “Pan, I just want to be involved. When Gohan was growing up he and his father was always fighting. Then I got Goten, but he was just as determined to fight as your grandpa. I never had the chance to be a real mother. I want you to grow up. Complete school, marry, and do something that won’t get you killed.”

Pan smiled. “I’m sorry… But…”

Videl walked over to Pan and clamped a hand over her mouth. “Chi-Chi… We just talked to the school. Pan won’t be returning for at least another week. But she will be doing all the work at home until this battle is over. She’ll return to school afterwards.

“You’re her grandmother Chi-Chi. Not her actual mother. All you’re meant to do is support her and spoil her. And love her. That’s all. Besides, I’d rather she sing than fight. But hopefully this battle will deter her. She has never had a battle like this before. Maybe she’ll change her mind after seeing how hard it truly is.”

While all this was going on no one had noticed Azaelya sneaking off to see Goten. She was going to put an end to Zarak’s insane experiment. She didn’t expect to see Trunks in there though, nor did she expect to feel a familiarity of him when he was docile and depressed. Almost as if she’d been in this position before. It seemed so familiar. Trunks looking over a wounded friend and Azaelya coming in to end the torture. She shook the image out of her head. But her thoughts kept drifting to it, until Trunks asked her a question.

“What do you want?” He choked out. He got off the bed and walked to the door. “I hope you’re happy. Goten was like a brother to me. A younger brother, and now he could die.”

“I want to offer you sympathy but I can’t. Get over it Trunks. People die! You can’t change that. You’ll just use the Dragonball’s anyway. That’s destiny.”

“That’s completely unfair. Besides… We can’t just drop everything and rush off to Nameck. The Earth Dragonball’s are gone…”

While Trunks and Azaelya were arguing Goten began to stir in his bed. His head was throbbing, and he was still on the edge of insanity.

“God my fucking head. What happened?” Slowly everything came back to him. He couldn’t believe it was himself in his memories, but the final ingredient in sending him back over the edge was seeing Azaelya.
That was Zarak’s plan all along. To make Azaelya send him over the edge. Memories of torture flew threw his mind as a ball of anti-energy formed in his hands, and he aimed it at someone’s chest…
Hiya, this is Gokou! It seems Zarak was using Azaelya to send Gohan to the ‘next level’ all along. And now that she’s here it could happen. And the anti-energy in Goten’s hand will kill someone. Will it be one of the three in his room? Or someone downstairs? Find out on the next Dragonball R: Tragedy strikes. Blood never washes away…
