The Blood saga

Episode 9 - Tragedy Strikes. Blood never washes away…

“Look out!” Trunks called to Azaelya. The anti-energy began to float towards her.

Her first instinct was to run, but she couldn’t. She’d come this far. Her next instinct was to kill. She pointed to fingers directly at Goten’s chest. And fired a thin concentrated beam, it pierced his heart just as the anti-energy came into contact with her own chest. It burnt through the singlet before dissipating.

She knew she’d killed him. As soon as the anti-energy’s creator dies the energy dissipates. Her body was shaking from the adrenaline.

Trunks was blinking back tears. “Goten! Goten…” He cradled Goten’s head and began to cry uncontrollably.

The pain wasn’t going to leave him. The two had been best friends since, forever and now it was all gone. Goten’s blood was on Azaelya’s hand and it wasn’t going to wash away. No matter how much she felt sorry or was forgiven, or even how much Trunks grieved they would both forever see the blood on her hands.

“Trunks. I-I-I…” She stammered out.

He turned to face her. His eyes were damp and red, and tears were still rolling down his cheek. “Get out.”

“I… I had to Trunks… He would have killed us…” She pleaded, he knew she was sorry. But he was in no way going to justify what she did.

“You think I’m afraid of death? I’ve been through it before! But you… You’re nothing! But a murderous, disgusting *****!” He snarled. He fired a Burning Attack at her to warn her away. It didn’t work. She wasn’t going to leave.

“Fine… If you won’t leave, I will…” He picked up Goten and left.

Slowly he came down the stairs. His mind racing, his thoughts were jumbled and made no sense at all. A million thoughts became one… When would he meet the same fate?

Gokou saw Trunks figure, and immediately he knew what had happened. Everyone caught on with in a moment. Pan tore out of the study when she heard all the conversation stop, and fell to her knees. Trunks laid Goten down on the couch. His blood soaked gi, had transferred some blood to Trunks shirt.

“Gokou. I need to know. Where is Zarak?”

“I… You can’t fight him alone…”

Chi-Chi had collapsed and Buruma, Videl and Gyuu Mauo were trying to wake her up. Pan was leaning against the wall crying. Uubu was trying to comfort her. Gohan was too distraught to cry. In anger he turned and punched through the wall. Gokou didn’t know what to do. His youngest son was dead, but he’d never been in this situation before. He’d never been so close to his dead family members.

He muttered simply, “Zarak.” Before tending to Chi-Chi.

Bra had taken Pan up to her room, with Marron. To talk, listen to music and take their mind of Goten. Uubu didn’t know what to do. He had only met Goten once or twice. He was never really attached to anyone. But something about Pan and Gokou feeling so hurt angered him. Made him want to kill whatever caused this. Something about Pan…

Azaelya was curled up on Goten’s blood stained bed in the fetal position. She hadn’t wanted to kill Goten, but she had no choice. There was something about Trunks… An air of familiarity. She needed to know why…

It had been four hours. No one had even wondered where she’d gone. But had been grieving, not so much for Goten, but for the fact that she had ruined all chances of leaving her old life behind and starting a new with the Z-Senshi. She had to make right. She had to… But how? Suddenly she began to convulse. Sweat began to drip off her, her muscle mass around her leg’s this time would bulge with no warning then return to normal just as quickly.

Her eyes grew wide with pain and fear. This was becoming too much for even her mind to handle, soon it would kill her and she didn’t even know why it happened. She knew all to well what it did though. It healed her completely and raised her abilities. But soon it would kill her without question. Her body would decay.

The convulsions subsided within five minutes, the pain remained and so did Deaths lingering shadow. She could feel herself getting stronger, but it was the way of a demon getting stronger. She brushed her hair, which had been matted there by sweat and tears, out of her eyes.

“When will it end? Human weakness… It never goes away… It will drive us all to destruction…” She muttered

Nenuohsib and Ojuohsib had only just been told that Zarak’s father, Zarkon, would be arriving. They were both dreading this. “We have nothing to report Ojuohsib… Because you lost your head and tried to kill Azaelya. She was Zarak’s greatest and now he will pay for your mistake!”

“Calm down…” She wheezed. Her side was still burnt, but most of the rotting flesh had been removed. Some remained and it pained her to even think of it let alone touch it. “As long as we remain an asset it will all work out for the best.”

He sighed. “Maybe so, but you can’t deny that Zarak doesn’t need us much anymore. The further we drift apart because of your hatred for Azaelya means our Life Force attack becomes useless. It was our greatest asset. Now we have lost it.” He stroked her hand. “And we have lost our ball’s. He knew that we were against him, so he stole them back. He confronted us so we would have to give them.”
A clatter of metal occurred behind Nenuohsib startling him. “What? Tetsujin… How long have you been there?”
“Long enough to hear you pointless chatter. I have a disk you may want to take a look at…” Both Nenuohsib and Ojuohsib gained a devious smile.
“They’re Zarak’s research and personal files aren’t they?” Tetsujin gave no response, instead he held up a third disk. “And those are all the files on Azaelya. Why would you need those… we were there when she was born.
“But, Ojuohsib, we don’t know her real purpose… Or anything else. She’s been a very big secret, this could give us the upper hand, my love. And besides I know how much you hate her. Maybe it it'll have something scandalous on it. Or a weak point.” Nenuohsib whispered into her ear, then kissed her cheek.

“Of course… How foolish of me… Nenuohsib, forgive me… I will never drift from you again… I love you…” She kissed him. “When I get better, and Zarak is our slave, the Life Force technique will be at it’s best… Now go get that disk for our purposes.” She whispered
Do you really mean ‘our’ purposes, Ojuohsib? Or ‘yours’? He mused, all though he wanted her back, he wasn’t even sure if she felt the same way or if everyone was just a pawn in her twisted game to get Zarak back for choosing Azaelya. Now was not the time for that though… Be prepared Tetsujin… I’ll rip you electronic limb from electronic limb…
Nenuohsib jabbed three times into Tetsujin’s chest causing the Jinzoningen to stumble back. He then twisted to his side and brought his leg up to Tetsujin’s face, kicking him and sprawling him onto the floor. Tetsujin rolled to the side then swept Nenuohsib, headbutting him in his mid section as he fell.
All the wind left his body with a whoosh. He fell back into a shelf throwing medical tools everywhere. Nenuohsib got back up and prepared to take the fight up a notch. Until the doors flew open.

“What the hell are you doing?”Zarak boomed. “My father is coming to appraise my research and I will be killed if it doesn’t meet his standard! And here I find you wasting you’re time fighting! Fool’s! I should rip your heads off and drink the crimson liquid from your necks… But I’m giving you one more chance…” A sinister smile crossed his face, and his eyes narrowed.

On Nameck Dende was becoming reacquainted with his old friends, as Kibitoshin stood watching him with Popo.

“He’d been separated form all this for so long. Popo… I want you make sure that he never returns to the Earth.”

“What do you mean, Kaiobito-sama?” Popo asked, worry evident in his voice.

“I have discussed it with the other Kaio’s and such… We have decided the Earth is to much of a liability. I will be returning to the battle to see it destroyed personally.” Popo seemingly fell, but just sat down. He needed a moment. “I can tell you don’t approve, but it doesn’t concern you. I’m letting you live…”

“B-B-But… What about the Z-Senshi, Kaiobito-sama?”

“They lack respect, and are just as much a liability. I will return to Nameck when the problem has been taken care of.” Kibitoshin turned away and returned to Earth with Kai-Kai.

“I’m ready to tell you all…” Azaelya announced as she came down from the stairs. “You all need to know… Who I am, and why I’m here… And why I killed Goten.”

“I don’t want to here any of this…” Trunks stated, he attempted to push past Vejita and go to his room. Vejita let him go past, but then grabbed him by the back of the neck and pulled him back.

“You don’t get out of it that easy, Trunks. Do you want to know why she killed Goten?”

“I know why!” He cried.

Here we go again… Azaelya thought to herself.

“She killed him… She killed him because… He was going to kill us then himself with anti-energy.” Trunks admitted. “I kept blaming everyone… But it had to happen… And I kept kidding myself… I just wanted someone to blame… I’ve known Goten almost all my life… I couldn’t… Oh God I’m a fool…” Trunks sat down on a chair, fighting the tears. And self-pity, as he began to sob quietly. The healing period would be long and hard for this pain.

Azaelya found it hard not to gloat that she was right. The somber situation made her realize she shouldn’t.

“Good to see you swallowed your Saiya-jin pride… God knows I put up with that for a while…” Azaelya realized what she said as everyone looked at her, especially Trunks.

“Who. Are. You?” Vejita demanded. “How do you know Trunks?”

The color drained from Azaelya’s face. “Two or three days… since we got here. I have no idea even why I even said that.”

No one dared move. The room had become to tense. A chainsaw would have struggled to cut through the tension let alone a knife. They each looked at each other expecting someone else to say something, do something.

Trunks cleared his throat. “Leave. I forgave you for killing Goten, but… Who… What are you? We’ve never met before.”

“I know that. I… I don’t even who I am or what I am though. Zarak never said…” Sadness filled her voice.

She felt betrayed by the memories stolen from her by Zarak.

“I’ll tell you what I know…”

Azaelya stood in a metal tube naked. A metal collar was attached to her neck and off it protruded various cables and cords. The liquid that filled the tubes traveled slowly in the tube, causing Azaelya’s dark green hair to wave slowly. Her hands twitched. Her breathes became shorter and more rapid, and her heart rate began to increase.

Her eyes shot open revealing the fear and insecurity that was travelling through her mind, she could remember nothing but her age, 17, and didn’t even know how she got there. Her hands twitched, before her control of her own limbs came back, and then flew out in front of her pushing against the tube hard. Her breasts bounced slightly as her body began to convulse. Amidst the convulsions, she began to push against the tube harder and harder, causing her breasts to bounce more, and her vital signs to change dramatically. Slowly the convulsions stopped, and her body was to weak to do anything more.

“Lucky This is oxygenated.” She muttered to her self as her breathing returned to normal.

“Zarak! Over here” A female voice said.

“She’s right sir.” A male voice backed her up.

Zarak saw Azaelya sleeping in the tube. “I see.” He activated his com-link. “Tetsujin, deactivate containment chamber AA-19.” Tetsujin transmitted a response over the com channel.

The liquid began to drain from her tube, waking Azaelya from her sleep and dropping her to her knees. As proper oxygen began to fill into her lungs, her eyes began to focus on her saviors. It was still hard for her to see perfectly after so long in the liquid.

“Has it even been that long…? I just don’t know.” She gave a slight chuckle, which then became a coughing fit.

The tube then began to open from the center. The bottom half returned into the floor and the top half to the roof.

“You’re lucky that Ojuohsib and Nenuohsib saw that you were alive. Or you wouldn’t have been much longer.” He returned to the com-link. “Tetsujin, disable all the cables, cords and various other crap attached to his young woman then give me her data.” Tetsujin gave the same response.

A hissing sound occurred from the life support terminal’s behind her. Slowly all the needles, cords and cables discharged from her back and collar, which also then fell off.

“Thank you…” She said, her freedom finally happening-Of course, she didn’t know how long she’d been here-but it didn’t matter. Curiosity got the better of her. “How long have I been here?”

“We don’t know for sure… I’m guessing at least seven months…” Zarak stated.

“Seven months…” She repeated softly and slowly.

“Don’t worry… you’re safe now.” Zarak told her, he then kissed her on the hand.

Hiya! This Gokou! It’s been a huge blow to all of us with Goten’s death. But for Azaelya to risk everything to save Trunks and put an end to Zarak’s experiment was pretty good of her. And now she’s coming clean about her whole past. Hopefully next time we’ll be able to coax it out of Piccolo. And as for Kibitoshin-sama-Or Kaiobito-sama, whatever he wanted to be called-why does he want to destroy the Earth? But will he be able to in time now that Zarak is getting serious? Or will we all join Goten? Find out next time onDragonball R: Nightmares come to life. Azaelya’s tale is told!
