This is the 5th in the Android arc and the story line now goes AU (alternate universe). I wrote this for Matty as he is an ardent 18 fan and a good mate. :)
Chapter 2 That evening Matty was trying to watch some T.V. but
visions of the golden haired goddess kept floating before his eyes.
The same question kept running through his head. Damn! Why hadn't
he picked up the courage to ask her out. He had been given the chance
and he had missed it, now he probably would never see her again. As
Matty continued his emotional sparring session so not all that far
away a certain young android was also experiencing emotional unrest. Juuhachigou was sitting in the lounge with the little
guy. Her mind kept wandering back to the department store & the
good looking young man who had been so helpful to her. There was something
about him, he made her aware of something mysterious stirring deep
inside her that she couldn't put her finger on. His face kept invading
her thoughts, try as she might she couldn't get him out of her mind.
She looked at the bald guy Krillin. He had done so much for her and
she was very grateful to him, but was it enough? She used to think
so but now.... well she just wasn't sure anymore. All these new feelings
& emotions that had invaded her very soul she needed to try to
make some sense of them. She made her mind up, She would go back &
see him, then she could get the answers she so desperately needed. Matty was deep in thought as he folded & squashed boxes ready for the rubbish. "Juuhachigou" he kept rolling the name around in his head. She walked into the store and immediately spotted him, he had his back to her so she walked up to him & put her hand on his shoulder. Matty was so lost in his thoughts that he never heard her walk up behind him. When she placed her hand on his shoulder he jumped 6 foot into the air & nearly landed in the pile of boxes. He spun around ready to abuse the living daylights out of whoever had scared him to death, he caught himself just in time. She was trying hard not to laugh. "Sorry, I didn't mean to frighten you like that." she said. "Thats okay, I'll forgive you." replied Matty wishing his heartbeat would return to normal. "Err how can I help you?" His eyes scanned around, no sign of the little guy. Things were looking up. "I just thought I would browse if thats okay" she said. "Sure, no problem. If you need any help just ask." he said. "Thanks I will." she replied. "Umm... Your boyfriend not with you?" he ventured. "No and he's not my boyfriend." she offered. "Yahoo!!" thought Matty "Heres your chance..." "Look I'm off to lunch in 10 minutes, would you care to join me for a bite?" asked Matty. & then blushed. "I don't believe I just said that." he thought. "I'd love to." she replied. "Did she just agree to have lunch with me?" thought Matty, "I'm sure this must be a dream, someone pinch me please" He came back to earth with a jolt. "You didn't hear a word I said did you?" she asked. "Sorry, I was miles away." he stammered. "Where shall I meet you?" she asked. "Just out the front if you like." he said. "Right, see you soon then." she turned and giving him a wink she walked away. He couldn't help but watch her as she left, "God what a body." he thought. His daydreaming was cut short by the supervisor calling him. 20 minutes later he was puffing his way to the front entrance. Blast the supervisor, he had deliberately kept him back, now he was running late and she had probably got tired of waiting and left. He looked around. She wasn't there. His heart plummeted. Oh how he hated that supervisor. He hung his head & sighed. May as well go & get something to eat anyway. He began to walk off when he spotted a familiar figure gazing into a store window. Quickly he moved over to her. "Sorry I'm late." he said. "Got held up." She turned those baby blue eyes and locked gazes with him. His legs turned to jelly. "It's okay." she said. "Lets go." She linked her arm through his "Lead on." she said. Somehow Matty got his legs moving. They picked up some
takeaway and Matty headed for the park. They found a quiet spot under
a tree and sat on the bench in the shade. They ate in silence. Matty
had all sorts of questions going through his head the main one being
why had she come back?. Juuhachigou was undergoing emotional turmoil. This guy was doing things to her insides that Krillin never had. These new feelings confused her, maybe coming back to see him had been a mistake. Instead of finding the answers to the questions she held within, seeing him again had only raised more questions. They made small talk. Matty looked at his watch. "I have to get back to work." he said rather reluctantly. She looked at him. Matty thought to himself "Its now or never" and took the plunge. "Can I take you to dinner & a movie sometime?" he asked, the words came out in a bit of a rush. She smiled at him "I'd love that." she replied. "How about tomorrow?" he said. She laughed at his apparent eagerness, "Sure, that would be great." "Shall I pick you up?" he asked. "No. I'll meet you there." she replied. "Okay." he understood her dilemma and didn't want to cause problems for her. He wrote down the name & address of the restaurant for her. "Meet you there at 7?" he said. "I'll be waiting." she replied. They got up, she walked away, Matty went back to work.
